I have a row of leyland cypress for privacy and shade. They are about 40 feet tall. The soil is well drained here in southeast Virginia. I have had some wind damage problems because the leyland cypress grow so fast. Bag worms can also be a problem. What are options to replace leyland cypress?

Andre has compiled two lists which include his favorite evergreen screening trees. Some good choices for screening trees would be Ilex 'Fosteri' (Fosteri Holly) or Tsuga canadensis (Canadian Hemlock). There are many other great choices. Here is a link to these lists on our website: http://www.viette.com/v.php?pg=784
