Transplanting Peonies

When is the best time to transplant peonies. I have 4 that have grown together and I need to move at least one of them.

The best time to dig, divide, and transplant peonies is in September after the foliage begins to turn yellow. Here is a tip from our website that shows pictures of the process of digging and dividing peonies:
