gooseberry mildew has disappeared

Post by Phily1 » Tue Jun 25, 2019 10:40 am

Curious to see if anyone else has experienced this. Our lovely gooseberry bush (one of the very few fruit bushes we grow outside) had white mildew on it two weeks ago which today (without any intervention from us) has disappeared. Hooray!

Has anyone else come across this.

Powdery mildew grows from spores carried in by wind, insects or infected garden tools. The mildew doesn't require moisture and grows best on dry foliage when the temperatures are between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
