Here are our 2nd quarter guesses...CDTShareTweetShareShareChicago Bears 2019 Season Predictions: 2nd quarterPhoto by Elsa/Getty ImagesThe NFL revealed their 2019 schedule last week, so we had to get in on the much-too-early Chicago Bears prediction fun. But to take it in a different direction, we wanted to break the schedule down into four easy to digest portions of prognostications. Former Bears head coach, Lovie Smith, used to like to break the schedule into four quarters — much like a football game — so we’re going to do the same thing here at WCG. And we’re also going to do it roundtable style to get more of our Bears experts involved in the process. Most of us had the Bears going 4-0 to start the 2019 season, with none going less than 3-1 to start the year. To see what we said about the first quarter you can check that out here. Here’s how the second quarter of the season will go for the Bears.2nd QuarterWeek 5: at Oakland Raiders (in London), Sunday, Oct. 6, noon, FOXWeek 6: BYEWeek 7: vs. New Orleans Saints, Sunday, Oct. 20, 3:25 p.m. FOXWeek 8: vs. Los Angeles Chargers, Sunday, Oct. 27, noon, FOXWeek 9: at Philadelphia Eagles Gale Sayers Jersey , Sunday, Nov. 3, noon, FOX(All times Central)Lester A. Wiltfong Jr. - (3-1, 7-1) Weeks 7-9 is the toughest stretch they’ll face on the season, but getting the Saints in Chicago after their bye, then the Chargers for a noon kickoff in Chicago favors the Bears. Revenge will be a factor in Philly, but that’s a tough place to play. Running the table on this stretch is tough, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see the Bears do it, but I think they’ll take the L in one of those big games.Erik Christopher Duerrwaechter - (3-1, 7-1) Their long trip to London to play Oakland will be rough, but with that said, I expect Khalil Mack to produce huge numbers at this point in the season, and the Khalil Mack Revenge Game should be a fun one to watch. I’m not a fan of the Bears traveling to Philly, particularly if Carson Wentz is playing MVP caliber football like he did prior to his injuries. Neither the Saints nor Chargers will be easy, either. If they’re not careful, they could easily go 1-3 in this stretch. Sam Householder - (2-2 https://www.thebearsfanshop.com/Mike-Singletary-Jersey , 5-3) This is a rough stretch for sure, but I think the home field advantage helps them. Nagy made sure his team protected Soldier Field and I think that that will carry over and give them an edge in this quarter. Khalil Mack will likely be out for blood in London, the Chargers could take a step back with an aging Rivers, but Philadelphia is a tough place to play. I don’t think 3-1 is out of the realm of possibility, especially with Drew Brees possibly beginning to (maybe?) fade. But I’m not sure he is, though and even if not, that Saints team is loaded. Ken Mitchell - (4-0, 8-0) London will be like a home game for Chicago, and Jon Gruden is an idiot. Nuff said there. I’d much rather have New Orleans here in Chicago, they are a very beatable team on the road. The Chargers are a good team, but Phillip Rivers is going to really struggle with Chicago’s pass rush. Philadelphia will be a really tough game, but I think our motivation from last year’s loss will fuel a defensive juggernaut.Aaron Leming - (3-1, 6-2) This is going to be an interesting stretch. Clearly I think the Bears are better than the Raiders but the other three games are tossups. Luckily, two of those three will be at home, so I feel like a (2-1) stretch through those three games is very do-able. My guess is that the Eagles game is going to be the toughest.Robert Schmitz - (2-2, 6-2) This may surprise some, but I’m not sold on the 2019 Saints. At some point age has to catch up with Brees Dick Butkus Color Rush Jersey , right? Compound that with how their offense slowed down once defenses realized that Brees struggles if you sell out to stop Kamara and Thomas, and I think they’ll disappoint. That said, I think LAC catches us riding high off the Saints win, partially because it’s still October. Not to quote a certain obnoxious radio guy, but California teams tend to play their best football in the first two months of the year -- I think Rivers gives us a bit more than we can handle and sends Bears fans back to Earth. Add in the Bears #revengegame against the Eagles going south due to a heroic Carson Wentz performance (gut feeling, can’t shake it) and I think we face Detroit (in week 10) a bit more nervous than we’d like. The schedule will be out tomorrow, so until then, let’s speculate" Latest NewsNewsHow many prime-time games will the Bears have?New,27commentsThe schedule will be out tomorrow, so until then, let’s speculateCDTShare this storyShare this on FacebookShare this on TwitterShareAll sharing optionsShareAll sharing options for:How many prime-time games will the Bears have?TwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailPhoto by Jonathan Daniel/Getty ImagesThe NFL schedule will be released tomorrow. The Chicago Bears followed up that announcement with the news that single-game tickets will go on sale immediately after at 8:30 p.m. CT: We already know that the Bears will open their centennial season against Green Bay on Thursday, Sept. 5 but the rest of the schedule will be unveiled on the NFL Network and ESPN at 8 p.m. leaked throughout the day Wednesday. The Bears, coming off their best season in eight seasons and one of the expected contenders for Super Bowl LIV, will likely be on prime-time a lot.I know many Bears fans prefer those comfortable and familiar noon Central kick offs, but that isn’t the reality when the team is good and filled with eight returning Pro-Bowlers and league-wide stars such as Khalil Mack and Eddie Jackson. The Bears will likely have the maximum number of prime-time games, although some will likely be subject to flex scheduling, as well as the network “protection” they can place on certain games to save them from being flexed.Last year ten teams had five prime-time games scheduled when the schedule was released.Since we already know one William Perry Jersey , I will take a look at four more possible prime-time match ups and just for you-know-what and giggles I’ll take a stab at whether it will be a Thursday, Sunday or Monday night match up.vs. Dallas CowboysThis is easy to predict. Five of the last six meetings between these squads came in prime-time and the Cowboys are always a favorite of the prime-time schedule makers. With both teams coming off playoff appearances this has Sunday Night Football written all over it.vs. Kansas City ChiefsThis one is a little tricky. I could see this one being coveted for a 3:25 p.m. CT kick off on CBS with Jim Nantz and Tony Romo calling the action but I think seeing Matt Nagy go against his mentor Andy Reid, as well as 2017 NFL Draft picks Mitchell Trubisky and Patrick Mahomes duke it out is too good not to put on prime-time. This would be a hyped Monday Night Football game in late October or November.at L.A. RamsLast season’s Week 14 meeting was a clash of the NFL’s elite and ended up being a tough, hard-nosed old school football game in a cold Chicago. I think there is enough national curiosity to see how the Bears would’ve fared in LA in the postseason and now see if the Rams can compete against a very elite defense after having a dud Super Bowl against the Patriots. This is a great Sunday Night Football match.at Philadelphia EaglesThree of the last four regular season meetings between these teams occurred in prime-time, save for the dismal John Fox-led squad against the rolling Carson Wentz squad in 2017. It nearly goes back to four of five if you consider the 3:25 p.m. slot as primetime games, since those regularly end up the most-watched games of the NFL weekend. With a close playoff loss hanging over the Bears and questions about if Carson Wentz can get it done for Philly, this game has enough intrigue to be a Monday night game.Other options: The Bears have played on Thanksgiving three of the past five seasons (2014, 2015 and 2018) so it isn’t out of the realm that they would end up playing at Detroit again or against another opponent in the late slot. The Bears and Vikings have met in prime-time in each of the last three seasons. The question is, do the schedule makers want to put Kirk Cousins back into prime-time after watching him wilt so much under the lights? It’s certainly possible, because the Vikings are in ‘win-now or else’ mode and should still be a good team. The Saints and Bears have played two of their last five meetings in prime-time and haven’t met in prime-time since 2014. This would be a good match up at Soldier Field on a Thursday or Sunday night. Finally, the Bears and Giants have a long and storied history. I don’t think there are enough expectations for New York to justify giving them a coveted Monday or Sunday night slot against Chicago, but I could see an early season Thursday night game. How many prime-time games do you think the Bears will have? Which opponents will it be?
