DO I DRY OUT GERBERA SEEDS BEFORE PLANTING ? AFTER COLLECTING THEM ?

I would think that the seeds would be dry once they are mature. I have read that most of the seeds that you might collect from the faded flowers might not be viable and you have to plant quite a few seeds in order to have a few to germinate. How did you collect the seed? Some people cut off the spent seed heads and dry them in paper bags before seeding them out.
